Doctor Who: Tenth Doctor and Rose story Cold Vengeance out soon on vinyl!

Vinyl collectors, mark Friday October 5th down on your calenders, as the Tenth Doctor and Rose Doctor Who audio Cold Vengeance is out on vinyl!

For the past few years, Big Finish Productions have been having a lot of success with vinyl. The fiftieth anniversary story The Light at the End was, in addition to both a regular and limited CD collector’s edition, also released in a limited edition on vinyl. It sold out very quickly, too.

So it’s perhaps unsurprising that Big Finish have continued to release stories in this format. Not to the same extent as the CD releases, though. Overall, the CD releases seem to be sold in a much higher quantity, while the vinyl format is more generally seen as a collector’s item.

But Big Finish have released a select number of stories on vinyl already. A couple of their most popular stories – specifically, Spare Parts and The Chimes of Midnight – have been sold directly through their website.

However, a few of their vinyls have also been sold from a few select stores. These have included Fourth Doctor story Energy of the Daleks, and Tenth Doctor and Rose story Infamy of the Zaross. All of which sold out very, very quickly.

Cold Vengeance will be sold on vinyl from HMV on Friday 5th October.

For those of you in the UK who are fans of the Tenth Doctor and missed out, or simply want another vinyl to add to your collection, you’re in luck! On Friday 5th October, Cold Vengeance will be released on vinyl at HMV. Starring David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor and Billie Piper as Rose, the story features an encounter between them and the Ice Warriors.

This release will be limited to just 250 copies. You can pre-order them now from HMV’s website.

Cold Vengeance was a rather enjoyable story. It feels a lot like an episode from Series Two that we just simply never saw, and it’s a lot of fun while telling a thrilling story. It’s also a great look at the Ice Warriors in a slightly more villainous role, too. But they may have strong motives for what they do this time…
