Someone made a CGI “remake” of The Lord of the Rings with an all-mice cast

Jade Baillargeault, Nazli Doale, Dimitri James, Quang Daniel La, Morgane Lau, Mélanie Pango and Manon Pringault are filmmakers. They made a four-and-a-half minute short film that recreates the biggest moments from Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings movies — finding the One Ring, the death of Gandalf, the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, the death of Sauron — but with a twist: all the characters are mice. Except the Ringwraiths. They’re rats. And Sauron is an owl.

But seriously, that was fun. Congratulations to the filmmakers, who put this together to mark their graduation from the ISART Digital school in Paris, France. And I have to mention sound designers Thomas Tillard, Alexandre Tron and Maxime Vatopoulos, who did a great job of aping Howard Shore’s somber score.
Just great work all around! I think I’ll be happy the rest of the day after watching this.
