Fans attending New York City Comic Con were treated to the debut of Star Trek: Discovery’s season 2 trailer yesterday, featuring our first look at the newest incarnation of Spock, played by Ethan Peck. With a majority of the cast in attendance for a panel hyping the next season of the CBS All Access series, the trailer also featured the debut of Rebecca Romijn, in her new role as Number One. Watch below!

Like season 1, the trailer promises plenty of action, as well as more than a few space walks as the Discovery seeks to solve the mystery of the “Red Angel.”  Spock, who appears bearded and disheveled (as much as a Vulcan can be), will likely aid in that quest as the adopted half brother of series lead Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green). Season 2 will also feature a heavy dose of Captain Pike (Anson Mount), as the traditional captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise assumes command of the Discovery.

Season 1 saw the Discovery jump universes, as well as time, in a war with the Klingon Empire, with that unique plot element allowing the wondrous Michelle Yeoh to return after her prime universe counterpart, Philippa Georgiou was killed. With the Discovery setting off to discover (pun intended) the secret behind seven mysterious signals across the galaxy, the new additions should come in handy.

Season 2, the first under new showrunner Alex Kurtzman is set to debut Thursday, Jan. 17.
