One of Westworld season two’s twists was the introduction of Katja Herber’s character, Emily and the reveal of exactly who she is.

Westworld had quite a few twists and turns in its second season and one of them was the reveal of Katja Herbers’ Emily being related to a certain character on the series. If for any reason you have not seen the second season of Westworld, we’d suggest turning away now.

Herbers came into the story of Westworld for the first time in season 2 and very quickly became an integral part of the plot and story. At the end of “The Riddle of The Sphinx”, it was revealed that Emily is the Man in Black/William’s daughter. Katja Herbers did a phenomenal job leading up to this epic reveal and most of us became smitten over her from the get-go.

But who is this wonderful Katja Herbers? Originally Dutch, she is film, theatre, television actress and is best known for her role in WGN America’s Manhattan as Dr. Helen Prins. She was also in the Dutch show, Divorce, as a character named Joyce.

Herbers is the daughter of a violinist Vera Beths and oboist and conductor, Werner Herbers. She was later introduced to the world of theatre by her stepmother and attended Theatreschool in Amsterdam.

While studying she appeared in two films, Peter Bell and Brush With Fate. Herbers continued to partake in a number of projects over the years following her studies and in 2014 landed a role in Manhattan. But that’s not it! She also had a recurring role in the third season of critically-acclaimed FX series, The Americans and played the role of Dr. Eden in HBO’s The Leftovers.

Of course, now, we know her as Emily on Westworld, and while she died at the hands of William in the season 2 finale, something tells us we haven’t seen the last of her just yet.
