The Jeffrey Wright feature film, O.G., has been acquired by HBO!

Jeffrey Wright has made himself a home with HBO who is now set to take on his feature film, O.G. which premiered at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival. The film was shot by The Lottery’s Madeleine Sackler and was filmed on location at the Pendleton Correctional Facility in Indiana, according to Deadline.

For his work in the film, Wright snagged a Best Actor award in the category of U.S. narrative feature film. In O.G., he plays a character named Louis who used to be the head of a prominent prison gang and is finishing the final weeks of his 24-year prison sentence.

After a new arrival comes into the facility, Louis’ release is affected due to him taking notice of this new individual and that is the angle the series will focus on. The President of HBO Films, Len Amato, spoke about their enthusiasm for the project and how groundbreaking it was to have filmed on the grounds of an actual prison.

Based on preliminary reviews. O.G. has had positive feedback with a special notice on how talented and phenomenal Jeffrey Wright is in the feature film. That comes as no surprise to all of us who have been admiring Wright’s performance on Westworld for quite some time now.

Seeing Wright go from glitchy robot to a prison inmate will be quite the transformation, but if anyone can do it, it’s him! And we can’t wait to see what this movie is all about!
