If you enjoyed the first season of Disenchantment on Netflix, then we’ve got some good news for you. The streaming giant has ordered up 20 additional episodes of Matt Groening’s (The Simpsons, Futurama) animated series that had more than one or two Game of Thrones-type references mixed into its 10 episode inaugural season.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix’s original deal with Groening was for 20 episodes of Disenchantment, meaning we were already going to get a season 2 in 2019, but more importantly, we’ll finally find out what really happened to Elfo in that crafty post-credits scene, at the end of the season 1 finale.

Anyway, the new deal is for 20 more episodes meaning, season 3 will hit in 2020, and season 4 in 2021. That’s four consecutive years of watching the misadventures of a drunken princess named Bean, her wise-cracking demon companion Luci, and the lovable and naive Elfo.

Groening commented on the announcement saying, “We’re excited to continue this epic journey with Netflix. Stay tuned for more cranked-up suspense, infuriating plot twists, and beloved characters getting knocked off.”

We actually watched the entire first season of the show, over its opening weekend and had some thoughts on each episode. It was a fun romp through a magical fantasy land as only Matt Groening can do. If you love Groening’s work, then you will love Disenchantment.
