Westworld Man Crush Monday: How young William stole our hearts
By Ariba Bhuvad
Young William of Westworld has a way with words, and his piercing blue eyes make you fall in love with him at first sight.
Westworld didn’t wait long to introduce William from the get-go, and immediately there was something about him that made our hearts beat a little bit faster. Sure, the Westworld season 1 finale semi-ruined our image of him knowing who he would turn into, but it doesn’t take away from the dashing good looks of young William, nonetheless.
The first time we saw William was in episode 2 of season 1 titled “Chestnut” when he arrived at the park, bewildered at the experience that he was stepping into. At the time, we knew little about him except for the fact that Logan was his equally gorgeous future brother-in-law.
Something about the first time we saw William can never quite leave our minds, from his intrigue over Westworld, and his inquiry into what was real or not (remember the conversation with Angela?) And then there was the time he saw Dolores for the first time–if only we all could have someone look at us like that.
Over the course of two seasons of Westworld, William has faced a great many obstacles that eventually led him to being obsessed and enamored with the park and its host inhabitants. And as we got to know more about William, it was harder to grasp this man would go on to become the relentless Man in Black.
When we first met William, he was a kind, gentle soul only to be tainted in his later years. Nonetheless, we still love the young version of him with his swag, polite and curious nature, and those eyes–my, oh, my, those beautiful eyes.
