The Mountain gets hitched, Theon has a baby, and more cast member news
Actors are people too. They get married, have babies, have birthdays, and occasionally play silly games where they stick their hands in a box to see if they can guess what’s inside. So what have the cast members of Game of Thrones been up to lately? Let’s find out.
Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (Gregor “the Mountain” Clegane) recently got married to girlfriend Kelsey Henson, who at 5’2” is several heads shorter than him:
Granted, at 6’9”, pretty much everyone is shorter than Björnsson (where does a guy like that go for suits?).
Anyway, the two were married in Iceland (Björnsson’s home). We wish all the best to Mr. and Mrs. Mountain.
Keeping with the family theme, Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy) and his girlfriend Allie Teilz welcomed their first child into the world on Monday.
No word on the baby’s name, as yet, but might we suggest Yara?
Moving on, Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) is in a new play at the Hampstead Theater: I and You, which is running now! To promote it, the theater posted a few silly videos of Williams and co-star Zach Wyatt goofing around. They are adorably hilarious.
Good luck trying to get Maisie Williams singing “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” out of your head for the rest of the day.
Yeah, a snake in a box is a box full of nope, as far as I’m concerned.
Maisie Williams missed an opportunity to say she knew nothing there at the end.
I will never forget what a “damp squib” means, nor Maisie Williams’ definition of the word “wiener.”
Maisie is clearly the more creative of the two.
Anyway, here’s a synopsis of the play, I and You.
"Housebound because of illness, Caroline hasn’t been to school in months. Confined to her room, she has only Instagram and Facebook for company. That is until classmate Anthony bursts in – uninvited and armed with waffle fries, a scruffy copy of Walt Whitman’s poetry and a school project due in the next day… Caroline is unimpressed all round. But an unlikely friendship develops and a seemingly mundane piece of homework starts to reveal the pair’s hopes and dreams – as well as a deep and mysterious bond that connects them even further."

Finally, today is Emilia Clarke’s birthday! Time to celebrate:
Biare Brōzio Tubis naejot se Muña Zaldrīzoti! (Valyrian for “Happy birthday to the Mother of Dragons!”)
