The use of Reddit increased ten-fold when Westworld first aired filling up with theories and ideas of where the story was headed–but did it ruin the excitement of the show’s mystery?

Westworld is a show filled with so many twists and turns and after it first premiered, fans flocked to Reddit, the internet’s number one place to gather and share your theories. And while it’s exciting for fans to see what others are saying and thinking about the latest episode, does it ruin the experience of the show or take away from the mystery?

Fans are so observant and intelligent when it comes to guessing the biggest secrets of Westworld and this stood true from the very first episode to the season 2 finale. For example, many fans theorized that young William would be revealed as the Man in Black or that Wyatt = Dolores. It’s quite intriguing to see how fans can come up with what they do.

But while some fans enjoy the thrill of guessing what’s to come, others find places like Reddit a place that people go to ruin their experience. Neither type of fan is wrong, and it simply boils down to what your personal preference is. Some enjoy the thrill of being surprised and not anticipating every single moment and translating it into a theory.
