Welcome to an especially jam-packed episode of Take the Black Live, the show where myself and Cheryl Wassenaar of Culturess talk through the latest news from the world of Game of ThronesA Song of Ice and Fire, and beyond. A weirdly large amount of stuff happened this week, so let’s get to it!

The Take the Black Podcast is on iTunes and Google Play! Please subscribe and download from there if you can. Also, you can help us out by giving us a five-star rating and leaving a friendly comment! We’re also now on Spreaker, so try us there, as well.

Our topics:

  • Every year, HBO produces supplementary material to go with each new season of Game of Thrones. For the final season, they’re planning something big, and we’re already getting a little misty in anticipation.
  • Maisie Williams drops hints about Arya’s final scene. We chew on that. How do we want Arya’s journey to end? “A happy ending for Arya isn’t a normal happy ending.”
  • HBO is making a Game of Thrones prequel show, and Mulholland Drive star Naomi Watts may be part of it. Apparently, I am a Naomi Watts superfan, because I gush about this rumor pretty hard.
  • Song of Ice and Fire illustrator drops hints about The Winds of Winter coming out in the near future and I try to keep from getting angry with him for getting fans’ hopes up.
  • And in non-Game of Thrones-related news, Netflix’s superhero shows are imploding. What’s with that?

Thanks for watching, all! We’ll be back next Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. CST for another episode of Take the Black Live! Join us on our Facebook page then.
