Westworld: Students dressed up as characters from the series
By Ariba Bhuvad
Happy Halloween! Will you be dressing up as your favorite Westworld character tonight?
Westworld is a huge inspiration for many this Halloween season and whether you’re at a party or out trick or treating, we’re certain you’ll be running into characters from all walks of Westworld life.
According to Mustang News, most recently, Cal Poly was one of three schools that got to participate in a monster makeover which was done by professional makeup artists at Associated Students, Inc. Events’ Monster Mash on October 26th.
While we can’t post the pictures here, you can definitely get a glimpse of some of the mind-blowing makeup that these artists produced–it’s absolutely amazing!
Before this event at Cal Poly, HBO went to NYU and the University of Utah with their Watch Me campaign, and hope to continue this trend of visiting college campuses in the future.
Westworld wasn’t the only HBO show the artists were seeking inspiration from. Game of Thrones and Sharp Objects was amongst the mix too so you can only imagine what it must have been like to be in attendance for such a unique event.
Freelance makeup artist, Keaghlan Ashley, expressed her excitement over special effects and makeup and how it all comes to life.
"“I am a huge advocate of practical effects on camera. It’s also a really fun, transformative experience for the person wearing the makeup as well as the artist.”"
This event gives students the opportunity to break free of their daily lives and do something fun and random. After all, who doesn’t want to dress up like their favorite Westworld character which could include anyone from Dolores to Maeve to Clementine?
