Kohl’s uses Westworld as inspiration for their holiday ad–and it’s amazing.

Westworld has inspired so many in so many different ways, and the impact it’s had on a social and cultural level is something to commend them for. Most recently, however, the department store Kohl’s has used the series as inspiration for their most recent holiday ad.

While other businesses may opt to do something mediocre or on a not-so-grand level, Kohl’s opts to do something epic. In a similar sentiment to last year, this year they are going big with their holiday spot by using Westworld as their background.

Martin Agency is behind this inspired 30-second video, and given the success, Kohl’s had with their Game of Thrones/Braveheart ad last year, they wanted to top it, according to Wisconsin chief marketing officer Greg Revelle. Starting Nov. 4th, consumers can get a glimpse at the ad–and we can’t wait!

So what will this new ad entail? A woman by the name of Mrs. Johnson will be the hero of the ad who saves the day and comes bearing gifts for all–and teases what Westworld could look like amidst the holiday season.

Can you imagine it as we do? A big Christmas tree in the middle of Sweetwater with all the hosts and guests sipping on eggnog. If only, if only. Sigh.

Check out the official Kohl’s ad below ahead of Sunday!

With television becoming such a huge part of our daily lives, it’s not surprising to see businesses tap into shows like Westworld for ideas and inspiration. In fact, given the massive fan following of shows such as this, it makes a lot of sense to use it to their advantage. And it makes for some entertaining holiday ads with a unique twist.
