Westworld: Paramount Ranch will be rebuilt after California Wildfire
By Ariba Bhuvad
Paramount Ranch, a filming location used by Westworld, will rebuild after the devastating California Wildfire.
Westworld will once again have Paramount Ranch as a filming location, as the Ranch has decided to rebuild their sets following the tragic and devastating Woolsey Fire in California that took many innocent lives and caused widespread damage across California.
Over the next couple of years, Paramount Ranch hopes to rebuild and restore under the direction of David Szymanski who is a superintendent of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, according to SYFY Wire. The Recreation Area oversees the land that Paramount Ranch resides on, which has been destroyed as a result of the fire.
In an interview, Szymanski stated that “the site is almost a total loss” but over the course of the next 24 months, they hope to turn things around as they work to bring life back into Paramount Ranch. A part of the ranch was bought out by Paramount back in the 1920s and has been used as a filming location for many movies and television shows such as Westworld.
The land now belongs to California’s National Park Service, after changing owners multiple times over the years. Along with Westworld, productions such as Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman have also filmed there, making the ranch an iconic and famous location for many western-themed shows and movies.
Whether or not this will affect production on Westworld season 3 has not yet been determined and will depend on what locations the series is going to be focusing on in the next season. Check back here for more updates regarding the production timeline for season 3!
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by the California Woolsey fire!
