Epic 10-minute rap looks ahead to the final season of Game of Thrones

Full disclosure: I am a huge square and don’t listen to much rap, but this is too good to pass up. Rapper Trus Real and producer Dee Miinor came together to make a truly transcendent song that recaps what was happening with all the major players on Game of Thrones when we last saw them and wonders where they’ll end up in the final season of the show.

“Eastwatch was the weak spot/so what’s gonna happen in Castle Black?” “Is Lord Commander Edd well-prepared enough to face a full-blown mass attack?” I was grinning like an idiot through most of this. Watch it below:

I love the sample from “Light of the Seven” playing under the lyrics the whole time. And the rhyming of “to know” with “Daario,” and the bit about Theon reeking. This is just really well-done, and the perfect thing to sit back and watch as you slowly digest mountains of Thanksgiving food. It’s more of a public service than fan-made song, really.

And it’s coming along at the right time. HBO is revving up the Game of Thrones marketing machine ahead of season 8, so we all need to start catching up on the whos and whats and wheres of this show, and prepare for the end. And if we can do that over a sick beat, all the better.
