Fandom 250: Did the Westworld fandom crack 2018’s best fandoms?
By Ariba Bhuvad
It’s that time of year! FanSided will be announcing it’s 2018 Fandom 250 tomorrow–will Westworld make the cut?
Westworld fandom is one of the most passionate, enthusiastic, and excited bunch of folks out there. And that’s putting it lightly. Other shows have a constant flow of episodes throughout the year with minimal and shorter breaks. However, Westworld fans have to wait at least two years between each season, and their love never seems to fade away.
To celebrate and bring attention to this year’s fandoms, FanSided Entertainment is prepping up to release its 2018 Fandom 250 list tomorrow. We have no idea who is on the list, but we can’t help but wonder–is Westworld going to be on it?
We’d like to go with a hard OF COURSE, WE WILL! The list won’t be revealed until sometime tomorrow, however, given how passionate the Westworld fandom is, we are feeling pretty confident. And even if the fandom doesn’t make it on the list, there is no reason fans can’t join in on the celebrations anyway.
Westworld took the world by storm in 2016 and continued to have an impact on the fandom when it returned for season 2 in 2018. The series digs deep into the idea of consciousness and artificial intelligence and pushes us to have thought-provoking discussions. Over the last two seasons, fans have fallen deep into the rabbit hole of theories the show produces.
This is precisely why Westworld belongs on the Fandom 250 list! If you’re a Redditor then you’re already privy to the fandom’s lengthy and fruitful discussions surrounding the show. It’s such an amazing feeling to see a fandom so dedicated to deciphering the show, isn’t it?
It is one of the most admirable qualities of this particular fandom, and not every show’s fandom gets so involved and dedicated. We’ll be sending good vibes as we anxiously await for FanSided to release the 2018 Fandom 2018 list. Here’s to hoping Westworld not only makes the list but ranks at the top!
