Celebrities get hyped for Game of Thrones season 8 in new teaser

The final season of Game of Thrones is only a handful of months away. To get the word out, HBO is bringing out the big guns, and by big guns, I mean My Little Pony: The Movie star Kristin Chenoweth.

And others. In a new promo, HBO taps into the power of celebrity to convince us all to rewatch the series ahead of the season 8 premiere in April. As if we needed convincing. See who shows up:

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, latenight host Jimmy Kimmel, rapper T-Pain…that’s quite the interesting cross-section of fandom HBO has at its disposal.

HBO has been using the hashtag and catchphrase #ForTheThrone for weeks now, splashing it on subways and putting it at the top of its character retrospectives. Expect to see it a lot more between now and April.

Chenoweth and Kimmel have demonstrated their love for Game of Thrones before, if you’re interested. Here’s Chenoweth singing an operatic version of the theme song on Kimmel’s show back in 2016:

Anyway, the real question now is: when will get a bonafide trailer with new footage? We’ve already analyzed the brief teaser trailer to hell and back. Give us the Christmas present we all want, HBO!
