HBO has just released two new photos from its forthcoming Deadwood movie, which will finally tie off the loose ends left dangling when the original show was cancelled after three seasons in 2006. Entertainment Weekly got the exclusive first look:

That’s Ian McShane — who you may remember as the Hound’s spiritual guide Brother Ray from Game of Thrones season 6 — as Al Swearengen, proprietor of the Gem Saloon and master of profanity.

We also got a look at Timothy Olyphant as Seth Bullock, the sheriff of Deadwood.

It’s weird seeing Bullock — a U.S. Marshal now — looking much older than at the end of season 3, what with that greying mustache he’s rocking. Meanwhile, Al Swearengen doesn’t look like he’s aged a day. The film will take place in 1889, a decade after the abrupt end of the series. “[I]ndelible characters of the series are reunited after ten years to celebrate South Dakota’s statehood,” reads the official synopsis. “Former rivalries are reignited, alliances are tested and old wounds are reopened, as all are left to navigate the inevitable changes that modernity and time have wrought.”

In addition to McShane and Olyphant, pretty much all of Deadwood’s ensemble cast is back for the movie. Here’s the full roster:

  • Paula Malcomson as Trixie
  • John Hawkes as Sol Star
  • Molly Parker as Alma Ellsworth
  • Anna Gunn as Martha Bullock
  • Dayton Callie as Charlie Utter
  • Brad Dourif as Doc Cochran
  • Robin Weigert as Calamity Jane
  • W. Earl Brown as Dan Dority
  • William Sanderson as E. B. Farnum
  • Kim Dickens as Joanie Stubbs
  • Gerald McRaney as George Hearst
  • Jade Pettyjohn as Caroline
  • Keone Young as Mr. Wu
  • Franklyn Ajaye as Samuel Fields
  • Lily Keene as Sofia Ellsworth

It looks like Lily Keene (Young Sheldon) will play an older version of little Sofia Ellsworth, who was played by Bree Seanna Wall on the show. The movie was written by show creator David Milch, with Daniel Minahan directing.

The Deadwood movie doesn’t have a release date yet, although HBO programming president Casey Bloys has said it should drop in the spring of 2019. With Game of Thrones debuting its eighth and final season in April, it’s going to be a busy spring at HBO.
