The Last Kingdom renewed for season 4!
By Dan Selcke
For our money, one of the best seasons of television to run in 2018 was the third season of Netflix’s The Last Kingdom. A sweeping tale of blood, battle and betrayal set in ninth century England, The Last Kingdom shares more than a few things in common with Game of Thrones. It has a wide variety of characters jockeying for power, a medieval milieu, and it’s based on a series of novels — in this case Bernard Cornwell’s Saxon Stories — that are still being written. No wonder we loved it.
The Last Kingdom season 3 represented a step up for the series — it had more episodes and a bigger budget than before, and seemed to be more widely watched. It only makes sense that Netflix has renewed it for season 4! Star Alexander Dreymon, who plays lead character Uhtred of Bebbanburg, broke the news in a video posted on The Last Kingdom Twitter account:
Uhtred, in modern dress, talks to a few of the other cast members to tell them they’re “going to season 4!” Clever stuff.
