Emilia Clarke on Game of Thrones season 8: “Your TV’s just gonna explode”

Now that the holidays are over, it’s time to focus on what’s really important: the last season of Game of Thrones. In just a few short months, the show will return for its final six episodes. To help build hype, Extra TV compiled a bunch of the juiciest sound bites dropped by the cast and crew over the past year:

“It’s everything times a hundred of what we’ve already seen,” Emilia Clarke said at the 2018 Emmys. “Your TV’s just going to explode…Seriously though, seriously, it’s ridiculous.”

That’s pretty consistent with what Clarke has been saying about season 8 for a while. Speaking to The Herald Sun early in 2018, Clarke teased a divisive finale. “People will scream and people will say, ‘That’s exactly what I wanted.’ And some people will go, ‘Huh?’”

At the Cannes Film Festival in May, Clarke acted like she didn’t know how the show would end. “I mean, we all have ideas, don’t we? It will be what none of us think it will be, I’m pretty sure.” Whatever you say, Khaleesi. Around the same time, she said on The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast that there’s a scene in season 8 that could become her new favorite. “[Season 8] is badass,” she said. “It just keeps getting better.”

And circling back to the health of our televisions, Clarke advised caution at the 75th annual Golden Globes. “I don’t know if anyone’s ready [for season 8],” she said. “I don’t know if TVs are ready.”

Sounds like we need to have a standby TV ready to go when season 8 drops in April.
