- Unlike on the show, we don’t know if Arya survives her close encounter with Yoren’s knife at the end of A Game of Thrones. Did Martin play dirty by keeping us dangling until the start of Clash?
- Not a ton happens in this chapter, but it’s rich in theme. Arya’s nicknames, the contrast between the real violence Yoren warns her of and the childish violence visited upon her by Hot Pie and Lommy, the red comet in the sky…all of it is pregnant with meaning.
