A Quiet Place producers are rebooting the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Time for round…god, what is it now, four? Just a few years after 2016’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows underperformed at the box office, producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller — the same guys behind last year’s horror hit A Quiet Place — are planning a reboot of the long-lived action franchise for Paramount.

This news comes direct from Form and Fuller at this past weekend’s Critic’s Choice Awards. Neither Fuller nor I are sure if Form was supposed to let this info slip, but let it slip he did:

“[W]e’re doing a reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at Paramount,” Form says. They don’t have a director yet, but Form says the new movie is supposed to go into production “by the end of the year.”

Fuller, slightly flustered, swoops in with his idea of what it really means to be a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle:

"I’m gonna say something I’ve never said before. The thing about the Turtles, it’s the same thing about A Quiet Place. It’s about a family and [the audience] being invested in a family. They are both family stories about the family sticking together and supporting one another."

That and ooze, and fight scenes, and dudes smacking other dudes with a hockey stick. Oh, who are we kidding? The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are about money. Maybe this movie will make some.
