Pilou Asbæk gets ready to burn the house down at the Zulu Awards, and other celebrity news
Well, this is happening: Game of Thrones star Pilou Asbæk (Euron Greyjoy) is set to host the 2019 Zulu Awards, an all-purpose award show recognizing the best in movies, music, television, radio, commercials and sports, all of it aired on Danish TV station TV 2 Zulu. But don’t take my word for it. Let the poster do the talking:
That is an image.
Asbæk seems very excited to be hosting the “legendary evening,” saying he “would never say no to an epic party and free bar.”
"I would like to say that we set fire to the KB Hall, but it will probably be inappropriate."
Apparently he’s referring to a 2011 incident when that hall did, in fact, catch fire. Holy sh*t, Pilou, way to channel your inner Euron Greyjoy.
“The ZULU viewer should look forward to a fucking elegant show,” said ZULU editor Asger Schønheyder. “I am personally looking forward to seeing Pilou fire it on stage, and without giving too much notice, I guess it will be one of the best shows I’ve been making to date.”
Why is everybody talking about fire? Are you guys okay?

Moving on, you may have heard that a picture of an egg recently become the most-liked post ever on Instagram, beating former world record holder Kylie Jenner. Internet, here is your new god:
George R.R. Martin, always tapped in to what the kids are doing on social media, offered his take:
No contest. Dragon egg wins every time.
In other photo news, Sophie Turner (Sansa) has signed a sponsorship deal with Wella Salon Products and serving face for weeks:
Hey, did you know that when Turner was dying her hair red for Game of Thrones, it was in danger of falling out? True story.
Speaking of hair, Maisie Williams (Arya) turned her’s pink. I dig it.
Continuing with the Instagram fun, Gemma Whelan’s baby seems to be enamored with a photo of her mother in character as Yara Greyjoy. Gotta start ’em young in the Iron Islands.
Finally, Tyrion Lannister is in the news for something completely unrelated to Game of Thrones. It involves Michael Gove, the United Kingdom’s Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. Gove appears to be an unpopular member of the conservative party, but as this viral clip from 2014 shows, he knows his Game of Thrones pretty well:
It kind of looks like Mr. Gove is projecting his toxicity onto Tyrion, but I’m not from the UK so maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about. Either way, that purple sweater is baller.
