Sophie Turner: “I’ve already told the ending of Game of Thrones to a few people”
We’re on the slow march to the Game of Thrones season 8 premiere on April 14, and hype surrounding the show’s last hurrah is building to an all-time high. Just recently, HBO dropped a new teaser featuring Jon, Arya, and Sansa looking at their own tomb in the Winterfell crypts, as an icy mist creeps over the floor.
Depending on what theories you’re reading, this teaser could foreshadow the deaths of these three characters, and although Sophie Turner (Sansa) has assured fans that the teaser has “nothing to do with the series,” it’s not like these cast members have never misdirected the audience in the name of keeping the show’s secrets; we’re looking at you, Kit Harington.
Regardless of what clues the teaser may or may not give us, Turner knows for sure how the series ends, and the information is not safe with her. “I’m so bad at keeping secrets,” she told W Magazine. “I don’t think people tell me things anymore because they know that I can’t keep them. I’ve already told the ending of Game of Thrones to a few people.”
Was she at least drunk when she lets that info slip? “Nope, sober. I was like, ‘Hey, if you want to know, I’ll tell you.’ But it’s people that I know, not random people. It’s people that I know will keep the secret.” We’ll be your friend, Sophie.
Turner also knows when the season 8 red carpet premiere event will happen, although she didn’t reveal it. Give her a few minutes.

A few more notes from the interview:
- Turner has to wash her hair every other day now, possibly because of Game of Thrones. “It never used to be like that. I think it’s because I wear a wig on Game of Thrones, so the glue gets stuck in my hair, so I had to wash it every day and my hair is now used to that. If it’s any longer than two days, it gets greasy.” She’s “very glad” she doesn’t have to wear her Sansa wig anymore.
- What item did Turner take home from the Game of Thrones set? Her corset. “I was thinking about framing it, but people might think it’s a bit weird. Wearing it would be weird. And it’s not the one that covers your boobs.”
- Blonde is her natural hair color, and since she has returned to it, a few fans have felt a certain kind of way about it. “They were like, ‘I wish you’d kept the long hair. You don’t look as nice.’ They’re brutal, those fans.”
- One day Turner could return to the red hair, but this is not that day. “If I wanted to bring it back, I’d bring it back once I look a little bit older and don’t resemble Sansa Stark so much.”
There are only 82 days until the premiere of season 8. And unless you’re one of Sophie Turner’s close friends, you’ll have to wait like the rest of us to see how it all ends.
