Kit Harington talks Game of Thrones fan theories, calls season 8 “groundbreaking”
By Dan Selcke
Kit Harington (Jon Snow) went on the KISS Breakfast radio show in the UK this morning to talk about How to Train Your Dragon, his hair, and of course, the final season of Game of Thrones. What did he have to say? We will tell you now.
“It’s quite nice walking around, which will only happen for a few months before everyone’s seen it, knowing,” Harington said, lording over you the fact that he knows how Game of Thrones ends and you don’t. “Yeah, I think it’s gonna be groundbreaking.”
"I told my wife last year how it ended, and she wouldn’t talk to me for about three days. And she’d asked!"
Harington, if you don’t know, is married to Rose Leslie, who played Ygritte on the show. You have to wonder: did she stop stop talking to her husband because the ending was just that upsetting or because she didn’t actually want to know?
Anyway, the conversation turned to whether Harington was “happy” with the ending.
"It’s a weird one to answer, that. I can’t really answer whether I’m happy or not. I don’t think it’s about happy or sad really. I’m satisfied with what they did, but I don’t know whether I’ll be really satisfied until I see it."
Here, Harington is adding his voice to the chorus of cast members who have implied that the ending is going to divide people. April 14, where are you?
Harington was also loathe to describe the final season with an emoji, but not because he doesn’t have feelings about it. “I’m a real emoji snob,” he said. “I’ve decided they’re the death of language. I don’t use them. I’ve mates who send me, you know, send me aubergines just to annoy me.”
He must have loved this game, then, where he describes different Game of Thrones fan theories with emojis:
Harington is pretty jokey about everything here, except the rumor that he spends more time on his hair than anyone else in the cast. That one’s true. But we could have already guessed that.
