The Mountain reads love poems while lying shirtless on a couch
By Dan Selcke
It’s Valentine’s Day. Now watch this video of Game of Thrones star Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane) reading love poems while lying shirtless on a tastefully upholstered fainting couch.
I have three reactions to this:
- Björnsson is 6’9”. That couch is pretty big.
- Javier Sierra’s poem was pretty good.
- Love.
This is far from the first time Björnsson has done a wacky commercial for SodaStream. It’s kind of their brand now:
Then there was the time Septa Unella got in on the fun:
And when you tire of fizzy water, Björnsson will also crush skulls for Icelandic Mountain Vodka:
The guy knows what his public wants.

Back to Valentine’s Day, HBO has also been having fun with this most romantic of occasions:
I like the Hodor one especially.
But why should HBO have all the fun? The internet is full of creative Game of Thrones fans who want to share their Valentine’s Day spirit with the world:
"This might be my favourite Valentine’s card ever from freefolk"
Nothing but respect for this assortment of custom Valentine’s Day cookies:
"[SPOILERS] I got my husband custom Game of Thrones cookies for Valentine’s day from gameofthrones"
Game of Thrones is fertile ground for shipping and shippers. This collage shows off some of the most prominent:
"Happy Valentines Day everyone, I made a little collage for all the alive GOT ships I know of. Hope you all have a wonderful day filled with love either romantic, familial or friendship love no matter who you ship or don’t ship. from freefolk"
I like that they included Bronn and the castle of his dreams. Missing a few couples, though.
And of course, let’s not forget to salute all the single ladies, and men:
Happy Valentine’s Day. And to all a good night.
