Watch the trailer for Game of Thrones season 8!

It’s here: the first official trailer for the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones. We watch now:
Okay, I need to sort out my feelings:
- Arya may be the highlight of this trailer. Her speech is straight badass (“I know death. He’s got many faces. I look forward to seeing this one.”), but her terror at the top of the trailer is, well, terrifying. After everything she’s seen, there are few things that can make Arya Stark that scared, but I guess apocalyptic zombies are one of them.
- As promised, Euron is bringing the Golden Company to Westeros on Greyjoy ships. You can tell they’re the Golden Company because they’re slathered in gold.
- Beric Dondarrion and Tormund Giantsbane are in an underground tunnel, probably the Winterfell crypts, so that confirms that they both survive the fall of the Wall, if you were wondering.
- Great shot of Daenerys army marching through the winter town to Winterfell. I’m thinking this is the first scene of the season:
- We already saw Arya react to the dragons. Now it’s Sansa’s turn:
- Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen are in the Winterfell crypts together. Last time a non-Stark came down there Jon got cross but we think he’ll be more amenable this time.
There’s a lotta night shots here. I’m guessing they’re pretty much all from the much-hyped Battle of Winterfell. Also, damn, does Cersei look devastated in that one shot in the Red Keep throne room. Not even the wine is helping.
