The final season of Game of Thrones is around the corner and the cast members are out there promoting their hearts out. Kit Harington (Jon Snow) stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night to talk about the final season, filming the Battle of Winterfell, and to try and keep a straight face while Colbert suggests possible ending scenarios.

But first, Colbert put together a little Game of Thrones-themed skit about about Congress’ expanded probe into President Trump’s behavior. Here’s that:

Okay, on to Harington!

He’s looking kind of like Richard Madden these days? Just me?

Anyway, let’s hit some highlights:

  • Kit Harington’s idea of a ridiculous ending: “Jon Snow marries the Night King or something like that.” Confirmed.
  • “We screwed the political landscape…I just felt that certain political figures tried to emulate Joffrey and things went a bit wrong.”
  • Did he ever know how the show would end along the way? “I had my theories. I had theories all along and all of them were wrong.”
  • When he learned how the show ended at the season 8 table read: “I was very shocked and surprised at certain events unfolding, and then I blubbed my eyes out.”
  • He talks a little about the upcoming Battle of Winterfell, which took 55 nights to film. “It was a lot to ask, but I think it will be definitely worth it.”

And then, of course, Colbert suggests possible endings and challenges Harington not to give anything away. “Do nothing with your face.” “I’m very good at that as Jon Snow.”

He laughed pretty hard at the one about George R.R. Martin watching the show and finally getting an idea for how to end A Song of Ice and Fire. Just saying.
