Disney will make its entire film library available on Disney+

Disney fans everywhere are rejoicing over what Disney CEO Bob Iger had to say earlier this week. According to Vulture, during a shareholder meeting in St. Louis, Iger announced that sometime following the official launch of its streaming service, Disney+, all Disney movies will be available to watch. That purportedly includes classics like Bambi or The Great Mouse Detective that are currently “in the vault.” It’s our heart’s desire come true.

As a dyed-in-the-wool Disney fan, I couldn’t be more excited to finally be able to conveniently watch all my favorite childhood movies. And this wasn’t the only thing Iger had to say regarding Disney+; the studio is aiming to have new releases available on the service within a year.

So Disney is going all in with its streaming service, hyping it hardcore ahead of launch. All it’s making all these classic movies available on top of the promising original content it has in production, including two live-action Star Wars series — The Mandalorian and Cassian Andor — plus Marvel series revolving around characters like Loki (with Tom Hiddleston present and accounted for) and Scarlet Witch. And with Disney’s deep pockets, there’s plenty more where that came from.

With competitors like Netflix and Hulu, the streaming space is very competitive, but if anyone can break in, it’s Disney. There’s no official launch date for Disney+ as of yet, but you can bet we’ll be keeping a close eye on any updates!
