American Gods is finally back with a second season, and boy has it been a long wait. From the showrunner changes to the cast dropouts, this show has been through the wringer. Now that it’s come out the other side, what does it look like?
The first season is mainly concerned with the impending battle between the old and new Gods. Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) is courted by some of the new Gods but ultimately joins up with the enigmatic Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane). At the end of season 1, the old Gods are on their way to the House of the Rock to lay their battle plans.
Oh, and Mr. Wednesday is actually Odin, father to Thor and Loki and king of Asgard. And let’s not forget about Shadow Moon’s undead wife, Laura (Emily Brown), who’s also lurking about. It’s a weird cast.
