The final season of Game of Thrones kicks off on April 14, and everybody everywhere is wondering how it will end. The delightful thing is that nobody really seems sure. We here at WiC spend a lot of time (too much) thinking about these questions, and while we have our ideas, I couldn’t give you a solid answer as to how this whole thing will wrap up.

And that’s great, particularly after a massive leak spoiled pretty much everything about season 7 before it aired. HBO has been running a tight ship this final season, to the point where not even the cast members know what’s happening half the time. Below, Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), apparently speaking at the Goldene Kamara awards in Germany, revealed whether her predictions for the ending panned out.

“I didn’t see any of this coming,” Clarke said. “None of it. I didn’t spent much of my time thinking, ‘What is gonna happen?’ because I knew whatever I would think would be wrong.”

Knowing how resourceful and intelligent Game of Thrones fans are, I’d be shocked if no one guessed the ending before it came, but my dream scenario is to truly be blindsided with awesome. Clarke makes it sound like that’s a real possibility:

"Every single part of this season…It’s not just, like, maybe three times bigger. It’s like 10 times bigger. Truly. Every aspect of this last season is just next level bigger than you think you’ve ever seen before."

I’ll believe it when I see it, which happily won’t be too long from now.
