Weeks after we started of Game of Thrones March Madness tournament with a field of 64 of your favorite characters, we finally have a champion just days before the season 8 premiere. Whittling down such a diverse and wonderful group of characters wasn’t easy, but the fans have spoken, and your 2019 champion is…

Kidding aside, for the second year in a row, you the fans have chosen none other than the King in the North Jon Snow as your favorite character! Daenerys’ new boy toy (and nephew) took down a who’s who of fan favorites en route to the championship, including Lyanna Mormont, Ser Davos Seaworth and his brother/cousin Robb Stark.
The final results:
Jon’s final opponent was his sister/cousin Arya Stark, the world’s spunkiest teenage assassin. Arya made a strong showing this year; perhaps her return to Winterfell in season 7 boosted her popularity? This tournament also marked the first time Tyrion did not make the finals; in years before this, the littlest Lannister lost to first Littlefinger and then Jon.
