Game of Thrones screencap breakdown: “Episode 802” Trailer

Game of Thrones is back with a vengeance. The season 8 premiere, “Winterfell,” featured a bevy of character reunions, introductions and a few story hand grenades, like Jon learning his true Targaryen identity from Sam and Jaime seeing Bran at Winterfell. “Winterfell” was a nice salad, and now here comes the steak.

From the looks of the trailer for “Episode 802” (HBO is being real stingy with the titles this year), the upcoming installment will focus on the impending arrival of the Night King’s army at Winterfell and feature big emotional beats involving Daenerys, including her fury with Jaime Lannister and, we’re guessing, her reaction to learning that her lover is a Targaryen with a claim to the Iron Throne.
