Beautiful Lannister stained glass window rises in Belfast
By Dan Selcke
To celebrate the final six episodes of Game of Thrones, Tourism Ireland — in partnership with HBO — is erecting six stained glass windows throughout Belfast, which has served as the nerve center of filming on the show since the very first season.
They already put up a window dedicated to the members of House Stark in front of Belfast City Hall. Now, a window dedicated to the trials and tribulations of the members of House Lannister is up in front of Belfast’s Waterfront Hall. Take a look:
From the destruction of the Sept of Baelor to the Mountain cradling her after the Walk of Shame, Cersei Lannister looms large in this work, but we also see moments like Tyrion killing Tywin and Shae and Jaime charging Daenerys Targaryen. And also the Mountain crushing Oberyn’s head like a grape, which is always a fun memory.
When all six windows are up, they’ll form a Game of Thrones trail through Belfast, something to commemorate the impact the show has had on the city. And they’re completely gorgeous, which is nice by itself.

What house will be featured next? We can’t wait to find out! Many kudos to Tourism Ireland for putting together this campaign, and to artist Debra Wenlock for painting the windows
