Game of Thrones Screencap Breakdown: “Episode 804” Trailer
The opening image shows the ruins of aftermath of the Battle of Winterfell, with the battlefield in front of the stronghold swamped with fire and smoke. I’m not sure why, but it seems like it’s early morning; that would make sense, especially if this is just after Melisandre’s death, since she expired in the light of a new dawn.
Boom: we’re immediately alongside Cersei as she watches her troops assemble in King’s Landing. Unlike people up north, her footsoldiers are fresh as armored daisies.
Oops, that isn’t us alongside Cersei–it’s Euron Greyjoy. Her outfit looks like it’s made of crushed red velvet. Oh, the decadence. These two look really sure of themselves.

In something of a matching shot with Cersei’s, Sansa watches over the surviving northern soldiers reassembling and rearming in the Winterfell courtyard. It gives the impression that she has far fewer troops than Cersei does.
This shot pans from Sansa to Arya, both looking rather grim, probably tired.
Jon Snow also looks concerned. They can’t have a lot of Unsullied, Dothraki and and Northern warriors left after the swarming slaughter delivered by the Night King’s undead army. The burning of the dead may not be needed any more, but the sheer volume of corpses may require mass graves or pyres.
Farewells must be offered to those many who were lost, including Theon Greyjoy, Eddison Tollett, Lyanna Mormont, Jorah Mormont, Beric Dondarrion and perhaps even for Melisandre.
Daenerys, with Team-Dany members Missandei and Varys at her side, looks to rally her battered followers. “We have won the great war,” she says. “Now we will win the last war.” (It might be noteworthy that Tyrion isn’t present here, or maybe not).
The editing revs up to a much faster pace.
Daenerys raises her cup as her followers rejoice. Fortunately, Lady Olenna Tyrell is dead and gone and nowhere near her goblet.
There’s a ton of cheering for Daenerys. It looks like she’s won the North’s respect and a standing ovation, no less. Gotta love them dragons.
