It was serious stuff, but behind the scenes, things were a good bit lighter. The cast members are now showing off images from the set. Let’s take a look!
The Night King is a bad man. He killed thousands. But off the clock, he’s a nice guy, and even sheltered the Three-Eyed Raven from the rain:
He made peace with his killer Arya Stark, too:
Up on the walls, Sophie Turner (Sansa) gets loose:
She was pretty excited about Arya’s big moment, too:
As much fun as the cast members are having, several of them did pay their respects for the dearly departed Theon Greyjoy, including Turner:
Pilou Asbæk, who plays Theon’s evil uncle Euron, also honored the fallen:
Asbæk did have an idea for how to improve the episode, though:
And Allen himself signed off with a shot of Theon’s empty armor. What is dead may never die!
Also gone but not forgotten: Melisandre. Actor Carice van Houten didn’t post anything from behind the scenes of “The Long Night,” but she did post some photos from earlier in Mel’s journey:
“One of my favorite scenes to shoot.” I assume that’s Shireen’s burning? I’m glad someone enjoyed it.
Sam Tarly made the perhaps overconfident decision to fight in the Battle of Winterfell, and actor John Bradley is here to tell you that even if Sam wasn’t much use, he gets an A for effort:
Shutterbug Kristofer Hivju (Tormund Giantsbane) posted a couple of pictures, including one of him caked in blood and looking shocked…
…one with the fallen Dolorous Edd…
…and one of him with his fellow giant-killer:
Speaking of giants…
Hivju also factors in to this video from Gwendoline Christie (Brienne). And there’s singing:
Hivju was far from the only one who got bloodied up during the battle. How you doing, Podrick?
A moment of silence for the fallen, three cheers for the survivors!
