What did Daenerys whisper to Jorah?
By Dan Selcke
In the opening of “The Last of the Starks,” Daenerys Targaryen leans over the body of Jorah Mormont, her oldest friend and confidant, who was killed in the Battle of Winterfell. She bent to his ear and whispered…something.
What was it? We may never know. According to Entertainment Weekly’s James Hibberd, who was on set at the time, the shooting script for the episode read something like, “Daenerys whispers something to him that he’ll never hear and we’ll never know…” In short, Emilia Clarke got to write her own lines for this part. Only two people know what she wrote: her and actor Iain Glen.

EW spoke to Glen about it. C’mon, Jorah, give up the goods: “It’s something entirely sincere and true to the moment and something that I’ll never forget,” he said. Fine, be that way.
EW brought up another good point: does Glen realize that fans will ask him what Dany said to him for the rest of his career? “Yeah, but you know what?” Glen says. “I’ll always cherish it because it’s something no one will ever know but the two of us. And that’s a memory to hold onto.”
Okay, that’s very sweet. We’ll try to be content with it.
