What does “Torgo Nudho” mean in High Valyrian?

During tonight’s episode of Game of Thrones, Episode 805, “The Bells,” Daenerys spoke to Grey Worm in High Valyrian when Jon Snow entered her chambers. She called him by a name that many fans on Twitter didn’t recognize…but never fear, your pals at WiCnet are on the case and we’ve translated the name so you don’t have to.

The name Daenerys uses when talking to Grey Worm is: “Torgo Nudho,” which when translated from High Valyrian means, “Grey Worm.”

So there you have it…the mystery is solved; Torgo Nudho simply means Grey Worm in High Valyrian. I think, however, what was most poignant from that scene, was Daenerys handing Grey Worm Missandei’s slave collar, telling him it was the only possession she brought across the Narrow sea to Westeros.

It’s clear Grey Worm is hurting just as much as Daenerys is, and when he throws Missandei’s collar into the fire, I think he’s saying goodbye to what made him afraid. Remember, when he told her in season 7 that she was his weakness because he feared he would never return to her embrace.

MIssandei and Grey Worm’s love story has been one of the most tragic stories to come from Game of Thrones, and I hope that Torgo Nudho can take his love’s ashes back to Naath and help protect her people like he promised he would.
