Game of Thrones stars thank the fans, say goodbye to the show

Game of Thrones is over, and the remembrances have begun. I’m going to spend this whole week fighting back tears, aren’t I?

HBO hasn’t posted a “Game Revealed” episode exploring how “The Iron Throne” was made, possibly because it’s saving that for this Sunday, when The Last Watch will take us behind the scenes of the entire season. However, they have put up an interview with the Game of Thrones stars thanking the fans for watching all this time. Grab some tissues and let her rip:

Emilia Clarke especially seems misty. I mean, given what she had to play this season, that’s no surprise.

Even better, the HBO Twitter account has all of their expanded goodbyes:

And thanks to all of your for lighting up the screen these years!

Stars are saying their goodbyes on Instagram, too, starting with Sophie Turner thanking Sansa for everything she’s taught her:

John Bradley (Samwell Tarly) found his rehearsal schedule for his very first week of filming:

And although we already wrote about this, Emilia Clarke’s fond farewell to Daenerys and the show deserves to be read again:

If this is all too much emotion for you, let’s bring things down slightly with Pilou Asbæk’s (Euron Greyjoy) sign-off:

Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth) kept things short and simple:

Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (the Mountain) closed this loop in his life with a photo from an old premiere red carpet walk:

And because we’ve got to have a little laughter in our lives, Gwendoline Christie (Breinne) kept things light:

Game of Thrones has made stars out of all of these people. I can’t wait to see what they do next!
