It hasn’t been 24 hours since the series finale of Game of Thrones ended, and already networks are trying to get us hyped for the next big much-watch show. Honestly, there isn’t much that can compete with Thrones in terms of popularity and buzz, but Netflix’s Stranger Things might at least be in the same ballpark? Like, in deep left field?
In any case, Netflix has dropped a new clip from the show’s hotly anticipated third season. It has nothing to do with eldritch horrors seeping into our dimension and everything to do with small town moms oogling Max’s (Sadie Sink) violent and unpredictable high-school aged stepbrother Billy (Dacre Montgomery) as he steps out for lifeguard duty:
As a former lifeguard myself, I can say with authority that the pool never went that quiet when I yelled at someone to stop running.

I’m glad to see that the Stranger Things crew is going to slow down and have some fun with its third season, which will be set during a long hot summer in the town of Hawkins, Indiana. Obviously, romance will be a theme. Hopefully it’ll mostly be less creepy than this. And I’m sure the eldritch horrors will come into play, too.
