Disney is planning to monopolize your time with a bunch of new shows starring Marvel superheroes, all of them exclusive to the company’s upcoming streaming service Disney+. We’re starting to see more info on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which is about exactly what it sounds like. Are you ready?
According to Deadline, two characters from the MCU may make appearances in the six-episode miniseries: Helmut Zemo (Daniel Bruhl) and Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp). Sharon Carter, if you’ll recall, is the descendant of Captain America’s best girl Peggy Carter. They shared some stranger intergenerational sexual tension in Captain America: The Winter Soldier:
In Endgame, Captain America goes back in time and marries Peggy Carter, which kiiiiind of makes him Sharon’s great uncle? From another timeline? That makes the Winter Soldier flirtation even weirder and more Game of Thrones-y.
Helmut Zemo, meanwhile, was the guy who manipulated the Avengers into fighting each other in Captain America: Civil War. Black Panther left him alive at the end of that movie, which may not have been a great idea.
In any case, it looks like the two of them will join Sebastian Stan (Bucky/The Winter Soldier) and Anthony Mackie (the Falcon/the new Captain America) in the series, and we absolutely can’t wait! The Hollywood Reporter confirms that the show is set to debut in August 2020, which is way too far in the future.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is one of a few Marvel live-action shows Disney+ will offer. We’ve also got WandaVision, starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, plus a show about Loki with Tom Hiddleston and one about Hawkeye with Jeremy Renner.

And to think, we thought Infinity War and Endgame were the last we’d see of these characters. Thank goodness it wasn’t!
