Watch the first teaser for Star Trek: Picard

facebooktwitterreddit

Not long ago, CBS All Access revealed the title for its upcoming Star Trek show about the latter-day adventures of Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart). It’s called…Stark Trek: Picard. They’re breaking the mold here.

Anyway, the show got a fancy logo just last week, which means we’re one step closer to a release date. And now, we have a new teaser to obsess over. Check it out:

This could have been a winery commercial until the very end. The trailer for Westworld season 3 misled the audience until the final moments, too. Is this a new trend?

Anyway, Picard takes place 15 years after Star Trek: Nemesis, and Jean-Luc has gone into business for himself. Good for him. That Chateau Picard Bourgogne looks mighty tasty.

Is the voice narrating the teaser Firefly star Gina Torres? It sounds like her.

The narration makes it sound like the former Admiral has lost faith in Starfleet and himself.

While you’re here, you might as well check out the first official trailer for Terminator: Dark Fate starring the original Sarah Connor, Linda Hamilton:

The scuttlebutt about this new Terminator film is that it’s a direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgment Day, meaning that the third, fourth and fifth movies in the series have all been retconned as taking place in alternate timelines. Sorry, Emilia Clarke.

Alongside Hamilton, Terminator: Dark Fate stars:

  • Arnold Schwarzenegger as T-800 “Model 101.”
  • Mackenzie Davis as Grace, a human/machine hybrid sent from the future to protect Dani Ramos from the new advanced Terminator prototype.
  • Gabriel Luna as Rev 9, an advanced liquid metal Terminator prototype with the ability to split into two separate units. That’s scary and helpful.
  • Natalia Reyes as Dani Ramos, a young hybrid human-Terminator targeted for termination by the new Terminator. How is that even possible?
  • Jude Collie as John Connor…kind of. Collie will serve as the body double for a younger John Connor, with Edward Furlong’s 1991 facial likeness pasted on top in a way I’m sure won’t look weird at all.

Terminator: Dark Fate hits theaters on November 1.
