Sophie Turner talks about making out with Maisie Williams on set

The offscreen friendship between onscreen Game of Thrones sister Sophie Turner (Sansa) and Maisie Williams (Arya) is nigh-on legendary. There have even been rumors that they are or have been a couple. They have a shipper name and everything: Mophie. That’s how you know it’s serious.

But of course it’s not. The two grew up on set together and became very close friends. Still, they were aware of the rumors and liked to play into them. “So on the set we would kind of do the scene then try and kiss each other in the middle of the scene and see if anyone would react,” Turner recently said on CONAN. “And it’s ‘Game of Thrones’ so incest is so normal that they were like, ‘Alright, that’s fine’. It was probably the most tame thing that happened on the show, actually.”

The receipts, if you please:

Oh, those two.

Anyway, that wasn’t the only bit of kissing going on while filming. Appearing on Australian radio station Nova to promote her starring role in X-Men: Dark Phoenix, Turner revealed that husband and singer Joe Jonas almost accidentally kissed Turner’s stunt double, Megan Parkinson.

"On ‘Game of Thrones’ I had a photo double that people would do doubles takes at because she looked so much like me, it was insane. Even Joe went up to her at one point and tried to give her a kiss and he was like ‘Oh, sorry, sorry it’s not Sophie, wrong one!"

It appears the explanation worked for Turner. I’m not sure I could get away with that excuse, but I don’t work in a business where doubles of my wife are walking around.
