The third season of Stranger Things drops in less than a month, on July 4, and we’re pretty hyped for it. Season 3 takes place, as ever, in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana. It’s the summer of 1985, and despite how much fun the characters are having hanging out at the mall and going to the pool, evil lurks on the other side of thee world, in the Upside Down.

And also Nike was there. The shoe company is teaming up with Stranger Things for a viral marketing thing — they’re all the rage, you know. Nike dropped this cryptic tweet today:

Okay, let’s break this down: if you dial that number, you hear a cheesy-sounding prerecorded message from Nike. Then, the message seems to bleed through to a top-secret call between Laura from Nike and Jim from…well, we don’t know.

Jim says he’s found a lost shoe shipment from 1985. “There’s something supernatural about it,” he says. What in the world does that mean? It’s classified.

Jim asks Laura if she can meet him on Wednesday, June 12 at Latitude 34.04031 and Longitude -118.26688. I don’t know why he couldn’t have just given her an address but whatever. Anyway, those coordinates take you to 621 West Pico Blvd in Los Angeles, California, near the STAPLES Center.

So what’s the deal? What are Nike and Stranger Things up to? According to Twitter’s PY_Leaks, there will be a collaboration between the two announced soon. Maybe this is the location for a pop-up Stranger Things shoe store?

Also of note is the Stranger Things cast being scheduled to appear on Good Morning America on Wednesday, June 12. Maybe we’ll get a new trailer for season 3, or the debut of the new Stranger Things sneaker, only available at Nike stores?

We’ll have to wait until Wednesday to find out for sure. Also, let me know in the comments if you listened all the way through the pre-recorded message and left your name and number…because I did.
