Game of Thrones might have only ended a month ago, but it’s already picking up the gold hardware, starting with a cup of golden popcorn at the MTV Movie & TV Awards, where it won in the “Best Show” category.
Weirdly, star Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm) was presented with the award on the red carpet before the show even started. Maybe because it was a foregone conclusion?
Anderson appeared quite surprised, and accepted the award on behalf of the show’s enormous cast and crew. “A lot of amazing people work on Game of Thrones, so I feel weird being the one to hold this, but I’ve always wanted to hold one of these,” he said. “So, congratulations to everybody, all the people I love on the show, who have worked incredibly hard, you will get to touch this. Cast and crew, and everybody who’s amazing, we did it!”
How many of those Golden Popcorn statues do they make? Do they just go to the principal cast and crew members, or does everyone get one? If I served sandwiches during the Battle of Winterfell, I know I’d want one.
