When Netflix announced its plans to bring the classic Nickelodeon series Avatar: The Last Airbender back to life as a live-action series, fans were naturally skeptical. After all, the last time the animated series was adapted for live-action, things didn’t turn out so well.

But things began to look positive when Netflix gave original series creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino creative freedom over the live-action remake. With the original creators in charge and Netflix overseeing the project, the live-action series might just live up to the original animated show. And there’s already interest from some potent acting talent.

In the original series, Star Wars legend Mark Hamill played Firelord Ozai, the main villain of the series. In a tweet, he said he’s willing to return to the role, this time in front of the camera:

In the animated series, Ozai tries to conquer the world and make sure the Fire Nation reigns supreme. He’s a towering foe, although his children — the conflicted Zuko and nigh-sociopathic Azula — are the more interesting characters.
