George R.R. Martin to co-host Game of Thrones concert with Ramin Djawadi

We’ve known for a while that the highly successful Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience would be returning for a fall tour. For fans lucky enough to live in and around Sante Fe, New Mexico (or those who can afford a plant ticket) you’re in for a special treat, as A Song of Ice and Fire creator George R.R. Martin reveals below!

That’s right: on September 30, Martin, who lives in Sante Fe, will be in attendance alongside Game of Thrones composer Ramin Djawadi at the Santa Fe stop of the Live Concert Experience. This particular show will be a benefit for the Stagecoach Foundation, a non-profit started by Martin “dedicated to bringing more film and television production to Santa Fe.”

Martin and Djawadi will both be attending a VIP meet and greet with fans before the show. You can buy tickets starting at 10:00 a.m. CST tomorrow.

If you’ve never caught one of the previous shows, the Concert Experience features an orchestra playing Djawadi’s epic score, helped along by pyrotechnics, giant video screens and all manner of creative stage performances. It’s basically Cirque du Soleil with Game of Thrones music. Unfortunately, Djawadi himself will only be attending a handful of the shows, although it will now incorporate his work from season 8.

“I’m really looking forward to co-hosting this special event with George to benefit the Stage Coach Foundation,” the composer said. “It’s going to be an unforgettable evening for a great cause and we couldn’t be more excited to bring The Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience to the Santa Fe Opera.”
