Doctor Who YouTube Watch: This Dalek animation is absolutely amazing

Our latest Doctor Who recommendation to watch on YouTube is the fan-made animation Dalek Tales: The Experiment, an incredibly impressive piece of work by Lee Adams.

If you’re a Dalek fan, then do I have the perfect recommendation for you. Lee Adams has created an amazing Doctor Who animation called Dalek Tales: The Experiment. Originally released in three separate parts, Adams has now edited the story into one complete short film.

If the BBC were to attempt anything remotely as cool as Star Wars: The Clone Wars, then it should look like Dalek Tales. Focusing on a battle between the Daleks and the Cybermen, the story features all the action and excitement that you could want from such a story. It’s incredibly ambitious and epic, which is impressive for something that’s not even twenty minutes long. You can see for yourself in the whole short film below.

An impressive fan-film

More from Winter is Coming

Watching this, it’s easy to see that it’s been made with a lot of love for the series. There are so many excellent nods and easter eggs. Not just to the TV series, but even to the Big Finish audios and comics. (Doctor Who Magazine fans must surely love who shows up in the middle of the story.)

However, other than continuity nods, there’s also a solid story here, too. It pays a lot of tribute to the past, but it also offers something rather fresh.

Lastly, the fact that Lee Adams voices all the characters in this is particularly impressive. Especially since each voice sounds completely authentic to its intended era. (For example, the Dalek seen in the era of The Dalek Invasion of Earth has a distinctly different voice compared to those of the modern era.)

There was clearly a lot of work put into this, and it’s a story that every Doctor Who or Dalek fan should see. A highly impressive fan-made production.
