Maisie Williams is a fish out of water and Lena Headey a puppet in post-Game of Thrones roles

It’s hard to believe Game of Thrones came to an end more than a month ago, but if you’re missing watching all the amazing actors onscreen, you’re in luck. Both Maisie Williams and Lena Headey have signed on for new projects. (And, no, neither is a spin-off series where we finally get to see Arya and Cersei confront one another…)

Most of us have been not-so-patiently awaiting Williams’ entrance into the superhero space in the X-Men spinoff The New Mutants, but with all the delays that film has seen, it could be a while yet before it hits theaters. Luckily, the actress has also agreed to play Kim Noakes, the lead in Sky’s new comedy series Two Weeks to Live.

Unlike Arya Stark, Kim doesn’t wield a sword or take other people’s faces — though apparently she’s got a knack for skinning deer and stripping pistols, which is probably about as close as one can get to Arya in a real-world setting. In the six-part series, Kim’s father dies under dubious circumstances. Things get even more suspicious when her mother whisks her off to live a sheltered life on the outskirts of society. By the time Kim grows up and reenters the world, she’s got few social skills and a whole arsenal of strange survival techniques. Thankfully, those will come in handy when she realizes that she and her socially awkward companions are in danger.

And this is a comedy, if it’s not clear. “I think Two Weeks Live has really great potential, and I want to make something incredible with this wonderful team!” Williams said of the role.

Meanwhile, those missing the woman at the very top of Arya’s kill list can check out Lena Headey’s latest project. Headey will be voicing the character of Maudra Fara in Netflix’s Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.

While the specifics of Headey’s character aren’t clear just yet, this prequel to Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal will expand upon the world the 1982 film built by introducing viewers to three Gelfling who discover the secret behind the Skeksis’ power. They embark on a mission to save their world from this power, beginning a revolution as they do.

And if the synopsis for Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance has you shaking your head in confusion, don’t worry: It’ll be worth the watch for the star-studded cast alone. Not only is Headey joined by former Game of Thrones actresses Natalie Dormer and Nathalie Emmanuel, but also Helena Bonham Carter, Awkwafina, Eddie Izzard, Alicia Vikander, Harvey Fierstein, Mark Hamill, Keegan-Michael Key, Simon Pegg, Andy Samberg, Benedict Wong, Rocketman star Taron Egerton and more. This is a very expensively cast puppet show.

Overall, it sounds like the former Game of Thrones cast members have some interesting new stories coming our way. And if you’re not sold on Williams’ or Headey’s new roles, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau will also be starring in a new drama series, Gone Hollywood, which follows a group of talent agents striving for success by going against the “old guard.” They’re all doing juuuust fine.
