Game of Caves: More pics from the set of Blood Moon

Over in Northern Ireland, Showrunner Jane Goldman and her team are hard at work filming the pilot of Blood Moon, HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel series, and as in times past, fans are busy snapping photos of the sets. Let’s look at the new stuff, shall we?

So far, the most distinguishing feature of the Blood Moon is set is this cave the crew has built on the backlot at Titanic Studios:

Honestly, if there’s one word that sums up what we’ve seen of the series so far, it’s “cave.” The crew is shooting at the Marble Arch Caves in Northern Ireland, and the symbol on the production signs being a mammoth makes it seem like they’re going for a whole Stone Age aesthetic. That’s an oversimplification — there are signs of civilization on the new show — but at the very least, caves there will be.

Knowing that, it’s not surprising that the crew has built a cave set inside the Paint Hall at Titanic Studios in addition to the one outside. Take a look:

Blood Moon is filming at least into the middle of this month. We’ll keep our ears to the ground.
