With the show’s upcoming sixth season set to be its last, the History Channel’s Vikings is hurtling towards an ending…and an important part of it may have leaked online. Go no further if you don’t want to be exposed to SPOILERS.
That some of the main characters might die in the show’s final season is hardly shocking, but thanks to Twitter user @KWinnickBra, we can pretty confirm that one of the show’s longest running characters will soon be feasting in the afterlife with Odin! And if that’s not enough, we have some other potential SPOILERS regarding who does the deed!
Still here? Okay. Here’s the big image.
That would be Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick), who’s appeared in 65 of the show’s 67 episodes, lying dead in a boat on fire. It looks like she’s at her own Viking funeral.
Has she met the fate prophesied for her by the Seer and died at the hands of a son of Ragnar Lothbrok, her deceased ex-husband? Which of Ragnar’s sons does the deed? Her own son Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig) seems unlikely, as does Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith). In this next image, Ubbe can be seen standing over Lagertha’s funeral pyre alongside Torvi (Georgia Hirst):
Oddly enough, it doesn’t look like Bjorn is not present at the funeral, although we do have one leaked image of him looking rather…ragged? Perhaps Bjorn learned of his mother’s death but was somehow unable to attend her funeral?
We’ve rarely seen Bjorn look so sad. Poor guy. Still, if his mother is murdered, that only leaves two sons of Ragnar who could have done it: Ivar the Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen) and Hvitserk (Marco Ilsø). And that brings us to our final SPOILER.

Okay, one more tweet:
Here we have Hvitserk, who we last saw siding with Bjorn, once again teaming up with Ivar, the man who murdered his girlfriend like three episodes ago. We’re not sure why Hvitserk would return to Ivar’s side once again, but murdering Lagertha would likely lead Ivar to forgive Hvitserk for Ivar’s overthrow in season 5. Talk about a complicated family history.
Did we miss anything else from the images? In any case, Vikings season 6 already promises to be a bloody good time.
